GLEH.org

GLEH believes that everyone has the right to a safe and decent place to live, including the ever-growing elder community who are low-income and living at or near poverty. The first organization of its kind, GLEH is dedicated to building and operating affordable housing for senior citizens and providing extensive social and recreational services for their residents and the surrounding LGBT community.

Challenges

GLEH faced multiple challenges as they looked to expand their mission to a broader audience and increase fundraising efforts among their existing and prospective donors. They lacked a corporate identity, an online infrastructure capable of delivering their message, and a donor management system to track their fundraising efforts.

Strategies

After having developed corporate branding pieces for GLEH, Zuno Studios was brought on to redesign and redevelop gleh.org. Zuno's designers worked with GLEH team members to create a design that reflected the organization's mission, their passion and the importance of their organization to the well-being of LGBT seniors in the community. It was essential for the website to tell the story of the people whose lives have been radically improved thanks to the availability of housing that not only accommodated their low-income budgets, but also gave them a place to live where they could feel safe and comfortable.

Zuno Studios’ redeveloped the GLEH website using the Joomla! framework as the foundation and built custom extensions to meet the specific needs of GLEH. The site also integrates Joomla! with the industry-leading Salesforce CRM (Customer Relationship Management). The use of the Joomla! allows for streamlined site maintenance for site administrators as well as custom functionality, while the use of Salesforce allows GLEH to easily manage their donor database, leads and marketing campaigns.
